Amin selected as chairman of ICC-North
Kanpur: Leather businessman and exporter Mukhtarul Amin has been selected as chairman of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC-North) and member of the ICC expert committee of leather.
Amin is also on the board of directors of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and National Skill Development Corporation –International.
He also holds the post of chairman of Leather Sector Skill Council (LSSC), a non-profit organisation dedicated to fulfilling the demand for a trained and skilled workforce in the leather sector in India. LSSC, established in 2012, is approved by National Skill Development Corporation.
The Indian Chamber of Commerce has 11 offices, including Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Ranchi, Siliguri and Agartala. At present, ICC has 27 international representative offices.
Earlier, Amin had held the post of chairman of Council for Leather Exports (CLE), an undertaking of the Ministry of commerce and industry, govt of India, in years 2007–09 and 2017–19. He has also served as chairman of the country's premier institute, Footwear Designing and Development Institute (FDDI), run by the Ministry of commerce and industry, govt of India.
