CM Pinarayi Vijayan criticises low attendance at Vadakara event
Kochi: CM Pinarayi Vijayan, who was at Vadakara to lay the foundation stone for phase two of the district hospital, was irked by the lack of participation at the event.
In a veiled criticism of the organisers, the CM said the organisers seemed to have provided enough space between the audience so that they would not have to sit in a packed gallery during the summer heat. "The organisers set up a huge pandal for the event. But it seems like they felt that people should not sit in a congested way. That is why they provided space to leave a gap and sit," he said.
The CM added that he felt like saying something about it but was limiting himself for the sake of appropriateness. He also mentioned that events at Vadakara usually see a large participation of people.
Apart from the CM, Union minister of state George Kurian, state ministers Veena George, PA Muhammed Riyas and V Abdurahman were also in attendance. Local MLA KK Rema and MP Shafi Parambil were not in attendance.
