Massive fire breaks out at food processing facility in Maharashtra, goods worth crores gutted

A massive fire erupted at a food processing facility on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway 48 in Sangli district early Thursday morning. The cause of the fire remains unknown. It took six fire tenders two hours to control the blaze, resulting in significant losses as the recently modernised facility was extensively damaged.

KOLHAPUR: A major fire broke out at a food processing facility of a private company located at Nerle along Pune-Bengaluru National Highway 48 in Sangli district on Thursday morning at around 6.00am.
The reason for the fire is not yet known, it took six fire tenders and two hours of work to douse fire tenders.
According to the company officials at the facility export quality processed, canned food used to be prepared which included from pulps to candies and brines to sauces.
The total loss due to fire is in crore as the facility was recently refurbished and modernised.
The fire was so massive that the commuters and locals faced inconvenience in breathing.
