1 dead, 5 injured as speeding dumper rams into multiple vehicles in Ayodhya

A speeding dumper truck caused a fatal accident at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The dumper allegedly rammed into multiple vehicles, resulting in one death and injuries to at least five others. Raja Babu, an eyewitness, recounted how he narrowly escaped the collision. Injured victims were rushed to Shri Ram Hospital and Raja Dashrath Medical College for treatment.

NEW DELHI: A high-speed dumper allegedly ploughed into multiple vehicles at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, killing one person and injuring at least five others.

At Shri Ram Hospital, Ayodhya, emergency Medical Officer Dr Manish Shakya confirmed, "One person has died in the incident. One patient who has sustained a minor injury is being treated here; the other five who have sustained major injuries have been referred to Raja Dashrath Medical College."
Raja Babu provided his account, stating, "At the Lata Mangeshkar Chowk, a high-speed dumper rammed into my vehicle. I was able to jump from my vehicle and save my life...The dumper hit several other people and vehicles and ran over a person. I sustained injury on my leg, chest and head."
4 men die in bike-car crash in Ayodhya
In a separate incident, four men died after their motorcycles collided head-on with a speeding SUV near Pararampur village in Ayodhya, police said.
The victims were returning on two motorcycles after playing Holi when the accident occurred. Following the collision, the SUV driver attempted to flee the scene, dragging both motorcycles for nearly 100 metres. The friction caused the bikes to catch fire, resulting in the deaths of all four motorcyclists, according to Deputy SP Piyush Pal.
Villagers, angered by the incident, reportedly set the SUV on fire. The driver, Bhaskar Upadhyay, who was also injured, was later arrested.
The deceased were identified as Ram Kewal (50), Indrajeet (32), Ram Sajivan (42), and Jethu (38). Their bodies have been sent for postmortem, the DSP confirmed.
