Auditorium proposed in memory of Kaifi Azmi

LUCKNOW: Here''s some good news for the literary buffs. The city might soon have a library and an auditorium in the memory of the eminent Urdu poet Kaifi Azmi.
Rs 25 lakh has already been sanctioned for construction of `Kaifi Azmi Academy Building'' by Shabana Azmi, daughter of Kaifi Azmi and Rajya Sabha member
In the plan submitted to the municipal corporation, the All India Kaifi Azmi Academy has proposed to construct an auditorium having 300 seats along with a library and a conference hall.
On May 29 Shabana, who is also the patron of the academy, visited a few sites in the state capital and finally selected a land at Bala Qadar Road, where the street light office of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) is situated. Later, she requested the LMC authorities to allot 60,000 sqm of land on the BQ Road to the academy.
