Ludhiana: Congress leader Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora have adopted an aggressive approach to campaigning, both on the ground and online. Both leaders have been posting videos targeting each other on their official Facebook and Instagram pages.
In a recent video released by Team Ashu, Congress leaders mocked AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora for his alleged statements made during a visit to a department store in Kitchlu Nagar, where four robbers threatened the owners and robbed them of Rs 10,000 cash a few days ago.
In the clip shared by Congress workers, Sanjeev Arora is heard saying, "They did not seem to be professional criminals. It seemed that they needed money and thought they could target the departmental store as they could get cash here." Arora added, "Anyhow! Life must not be at stake."
At the end of the video, the Congress team added another clip of Arora saying, "They needed money for something. Moreover, these days, people who are into drug intake also have expenses of Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 per day." Congress mocked Arora over his statements and questioned the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Yudh Nasheya Virudh drive.
A few days ago, when Bharat Bhushan Ashu took on Arora for taking credit for the elevated road, he retaliated by posting a video targeting Ashu. Arora's clip displayed several pictures of him visiting the elevated road, conducting meetings with local officials as well as Union minister Nitin Gadkari. It was said that the elevated road project was introduced by the SAD govt, however, in the five years of the Congress govt, they failed to get it completed. Thereafter, when AAP came into power, Arora met union minister Gadkari for its speedy completion and also wrote several letters to the National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI). The video ended with a reading of the letters written to NHAI and other officials for completion of the road.
Besides these, a few more short videos have been posted on Ashu's pages in which Arora is being questioned for his absence from the west constituency during the three years of his tenure as MP. He is also being questioned for not bringing any new projects to the city.
