DMK enacting drama in assembly over issues: AIADMK
Madurai: AIADMK leader and former minister R B Udhayakumar on Saturday condemned chief minister M K Stalin for ‘needlessly enacting drama in the assembly through resolutions on issues such as NEET, three-language policy, and state autonomy.' He said DMK should accept the fact that it failed to get the state exempted from NEET.
Addressing a party consultative meeting in Madurai, Udhayakumar slammed the DMK govt over various people's issues and emphasised that it was the AIADMK govt that ensured social justice in NEET. The DMK has grown afraid of AIADMK ahead of the 2026 assembly elections, which was why the party was making comments about AIADMK's alliance when there are more parties that may join the alliance, he said. "The AIADMK alliance will be a victorious alliance," he added. He asked why the CM was silent on minister K Ponmudy's derogatory comments on women and religious icons.
On Saturday evening, members of AIADMK students wing paid homage NEET aspirants who died by suicide since 2021 by holding a candlelight vigil in Madurai.
