Meerut: Two govt teachers in Moradabad were suspended on Saturday after a video of them clashing inside a primary school surfaced online. The Moradabad Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), Vimlesh Kumar, confirmed the suspension and ordered an inquiry into the matter.
The incident involved headmistress Shakuntala Devi and assistant teacher Sangeeta Rani, who allegedly got into a physical altercation at the school following an old dispute. "In the video, which was recorded around 15 days ago, the assistant teacher is seen pushing the principal off her chair, causing her to fall to the ground. Another staff member is believed to have filmed the incident," Vimlesh said. However, TOI has not independently verified the video.
He added, "After a complaint was filed, the matter was handed over to Rajesh Kumar, the block education officer of Mundhapande. The investigation revealed that repeated quarrels between the two had been affecting the students' education and tarnishing the image of the school and the department."
Following the probe, both teachers were found guilty and placed under suspension. "We had been receiving complaints of frequent arguments between the two. Action was taken to maintain discipline. If anyone repeats such behaviour, strict action will follow," BSA Kumar added.
