CBSE result rumours keep parents & students on edge
Nagpur: Almost like clockwork, every year in May, rumours of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) result dates float on social media fuelling anxiety among parents and students. The latest rumour mill has been putting the date as May 1, then May 2 and now it's being said to be May 5. But all these are rumours with CBSE not confirming or denying either, officially.
Some social media users have been sharing links from news portals which had click-bait headlines like ‘CBSE results today', and as one starts reading the article, it becomes clear that entire thing was fake.
A CBSE schoolteacher, who is also parent of a Class 12 student, said, "I have been inundated with calls and messages from parents about veracity of board exam result dates. This in turn increases my anxiety also because my daughter appeared for her exams this summer."
The central board has repeatedly advised parents and students not to fall prey to news on social media. But even known news portals have started click-baiting, creating further confusion among parents.
CBSE rarely announces results date in advance, a step, which sources claim, is to prevent excessive load on servers. There have been instances when the board announced results late in the night.
