Nagpur: Music lovers in the city were treated to a nostalgic evening dedicated to the legendary composer
Madan Mohan at the Scientific Hall on Thursday. The event, ‘Dil Dhoondta Hai Phir Wahi', presented by Atul Date, was organised to commemorate the birth centenary of Madan Mohan, along with celebrated singers Mohammed Rafi and Talat Mahmood. The evening was also a heartfelt tribute to Lata Mangeshkar.
The programme began with Pallavi Pargaonkar's soulful rendition of ‘Kahi Ye Wo To Nahi', setting the tone for the evening. Ketan Patwardhan followed with ‘Phir Wahi Shaam', taking the audience down memory lane. The event featured several timeless songs like ‘Zara Si Aahat', ‘Do Ghadi Wo Jo', ‘Mera Saaya', ‘Simti Si', ‘Baiyyan Na Dharo', and ‘Ek Hansi Shaam', which were beautifully recreated by the singers. These melodies, immortalised by the voices of Lata Mangeshkar and Mohd Rafi, left the audience mesmerised. The evening concluded with ‘Dil Dhoondta' from Mausam, written by Gulzar, leaving a lasting impression.
Renowned compere Vrushali Deshpande added depth to the event by sharing interesting anecdotes and insights about Madan Mohan's musical journey. During the programme, lawyer Anand Parchure, Asha Gokhale, and Narendra Jog were felicitated by Date, adding a special touch to the evening. (Reporting by N Soumya)
