Breaking undivided Shiv Sena was Eknath Shinde’s dream project, says Sanjay Raut
Nashik: Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday launched an attack on deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde, accusing him of breaking the undivided Shiv Sena as part of his "dream project."
Raut was speaking to the media during his two-day visit to Nashik, ahead of the party's upcoming divisional meeting scheduled for April 16.
When asked about reports that forest minister Ganesh Naik may be stalling Eknath Shinde's ‘water tourism project in Satara', Raut declined to comment directly, but added, "In fact, Eknath Shinde's dream project was to break the undivided Shiv Sena and take it to prime minister Narendra Modi's feet."
Turning his attention to the BJP, Raut also strongly criticised the party over the Waqf Amendment Bill. He alleged that the bill was introduced to benefit powerful interests. "Many industrialists have built houses on Waqf lands in Mumbai. The Waqf Amendment Bill has been brought to legalise all this. Everyone knows who the big industrialists are," he said.
He further claimed the BJP-led government at the Centre ignored issues related to poor Muslims and the Waqf scam during its rule from 2014 to 2024. "All the public assets were sold during this time. As nothing is left to sell, BJP has now paid its attention towards Waqf properties," Raut alleged.
On the occasion of Ram Navami, Raut also visited the Kalaram Temple in Nashik and called for greater government recognition of the site. "Kalaram Temple should also be worshipped by the government in line with that of Pandharpur. The chief minister should offer prayers at Kalaram Temple every year on Ram Navami," he said.
Taking a dig at deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, Raut said, "He has not visited the Kalaram Temple even once in the last 25 years."
