Patna: A 28-year-old painter died by suicide under Shastri Nagar police station area in city on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Bablu Kumar (28), a resident of Jehanabad district, took his life by hanging himself from the ceiling of his room on the open terrace where he resided.
"Bablu was living in a rented room in the Patel Nagar locality. The sister of the deceased informed the police about his death. She claimed that Bablu hanged himself to the ceiling of his room at the terrace. However, no suicide note was recovered from the spot. The body was sent to Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) for post-mortem," said Ramesh Kumar, Shastri Nagar police station in-charge.
According to police, Bablu's sister was ill for quite some time. For the past two months, the brother and sister were living together in the rented room. Another brother lived separately from them in Patna. "Bablu was bearing all the expenses of his sister's treatment. The family's financial situation was not good either. The reasons for the suicide are unclear. People in the vicinity are being questioned for some clues," the SHO said.
