Rotary Club Nigdi donates medical equipment to Late Kute Hospital in Pune's Akurdi

Rotary Club of Nigdi, with CSR funds from ATS Conveyors, established an ophthalmology unit at Late Kute Hospital in Akurdi, donating medical equipment worth Rs 34 lakh. The donation included advanced tools like a phaco machine and microscope. Additionally, the club provided bicycles, e-learning kits, and science lab equipment to Adarsh Vidyalaya in Amboli, enhancing educational resources.

PUNE: With the initiative of Rotary Club of Nigdi and funds from ATS Conveyors' CSR, an ophthalmology surgery and outpatient department setup was established at the municipal Late Kute Hospital in Akurdi. Medical equipment of Rs 34 lakh was donated for this purpose, statement issued by Rotary said.
Present at the event were ATS Group Chairman Daniel Reiffel, director Ann Reiffel, Co-Managing Director Christophe Evitabile, Finance Officer Santosh Ranavare, HR Head Colonel Deshmukh, medical officer of Late HBP Prabhakar Kute Hospital, Dr. Balasaheb Hodgar, President Suhas Dhamale, Sujata Dhamale, Ranu Rakesh Singhania, incoming President Keshav Mange, Rama Mange, former president Jagmohan Bhurji, and other dignitaries.
The equipment includes an optic surgeon chair unit with a digital vision chart board, tonometer, keratometer, microscope, fundoscope, ophthalmoscope, phaco machine, and other medical supplies, added the statement. Additionally, the NICU department received a baby warmer and phototherapy unit.
Under the guidance of project director Ashwin Kulkarni, the club also donated bicycles to 54 girls from Adarsh Vidyalaya in Amboli (Taluka Khed). The school received e-learning kits, science lab equipment, vending machines, water filters, solar, and electricity facilities.
Medical Officer Dr. Hodgar stated that the medical equipment provided by Rotary is currently benefiting newborns.
