Kakinada: District registrar arrested for bribery in gas agency registration case

Anti-Corruption Bureau officers apprehended Kakinada district registrar Ananda Rao for demanding a bribe to alter the Samatha Gas Agency’s proprietorship. Rayi Ramesh Babu had filed a complaint against Rao. The ACB also arrested assistant document writer Jagadeesh and senior assistant Srinivasa Reddy, with tests confirming bribe evidence.

RAJAHMUNDRY: The Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths caught the Kakinada district registrar while taking bribe.
Two other persons were also arrested by the ACB.
According to Rajahmundry ACB DSP, M Kishore Kumar, one Rayi Ramesh Babu. A native of Tuni wanted to change the Samatha Gas Agency proprietorship in him and her wife as it was in the name of his wife only at present.
When he approached Kakinada district Registrar Kopuri Ananda Rao, he demanded bribe of Rs one lakh for doing the official favour ie, to get transfer the M/s Samata Gas firm registration, which is in the name of Complainant’s wife (sole proprietor ship) into the name of the Complainant and his wife (ie, partnership firm) and for its registration.
Ramesh Babu lodged a complaint with Rajahmundry ACB officials against Ananda Rao. On Friday, the ACB sleuths conducted raid and caught the assistant document writer Jagadeesh while receiving bribe of Rs One lakh on the directions of the district registrar, senior assistant Srinivasa Reddy.
Chemical test conducted on both hands as well as the inner linings of right-side pant pocket of A-3 which yielded positive results.
