Rajahmundry: The police are still working to solve the suspicious death of noted pastor Pagadala Praveen Kumar that took place near Rajahmundry on the 24th of this month. Even though fingers of the investigation officers point to it might be an accident, the police are very cautious to come to a conclusion in this case, which has become famous in the state.
The police are saying that they are still waiting for the comprehensive post-mortem, Forensic, toxicology and pathology reports. As per the preliminary post-mortem report, abrasion wounds on the body and injuries on the face were identified. In a press meet, Eluru range IG GVG Ashok Kumar and East Godavari district SP D Narasimha Kishore have narrated the journey of Praveen Kumar on that fateful day in chronological order and displayed the CCTV footage from Hyderabad to the outskirts of Rajahmundry where the incident took place.
They said that AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is monitoring the progress of the investigation on a day-to-day basis. The duo said that Praveen Kumar said that Praveen Kumar started at 11 am on the 24th of this month on a Royal Enfield bike.
He was identified in the CCTV footage at Choutupalli at 1 pm. He took about five hours from Keesara to Potti Padu toll gates, which are only 64 kilometres away. A police team is working on where Praveen Kumat spent time in Vijayawada and collecting CCTV footage in Vijayawada.
The police have also found that the pastor has travelled without headlights from Pottipadu to Rajahmundry and depended only on indicators of the motor cycle. The police have also identified four cars which have crossed the motorbike just before the accident and examined the people who were travelling in those cars. After thorough examining, the police have cleared all the people who travelled in the cars.
The police said that one of the people who travelled in the car had noticed that the luggage bag of Praveen Kumar was sliding towards the left side. In the place where the accident took place, there was gravel. Making it clear that there is no evidence of any foul play, the police said that they will come to a conclusion after receiving all the reports. One team that has inquired of the family members and the relatives have made it clear that they did not express any doubts over one. Except Praveen Kumar’s wife and two others, no one knew that the pastor was coming to Rajahmundry on that day. Praveen Kumar has bought a site near Rajahmundry recently to build a church and he has also taken a house on a rent in Rajahmundry to monitor construction work.
