Man attacked in Surat with knife over Insta message

SURAT: A 19-year-old man was attacked by two minor boys, aged 16, in Amroli area of Surat.
The man had allegedly sent an Instagram message to the girlfriend of one of the accused. This did not go well with the accused, who, along with his friend, attacked the man with a sharp weapon.
According to the case, Shafiq Shaikh lives with his wife and family members in Amroli area. Shaikh was called by the accused on Monday evening. After the meeting, the accused threatened him not to send messages to his girlfriend on Instagram.
However, Shaikh and his three friends had a scuffle with the two minors. Following this, one of the accused attacked Shaikh with a sharp weapon. Shaikh sustained injuries in his stomach, back, and thigh.
After Shaikh collapsed, the accused threatened him not to send messages again and fled the spot as people gathered in a large number. Soon, Shaikh was shifted to Kiran Hospital in a serious condition.
Amroli police nabbed both the minors and started an investigation.
