Teacher arrested for sexual abuse of 13-year-old student found pregnant

Surat: In a shocking revelation, a 23-year-old female teacher, arrested for sexually abusing her 13-year-old student, was found to be 20 weeks pregnant.
The teacher and the student, who were missing since April 25, were caught near the Gujarat-Rajasthan border on Wednesday. She was booked under sections of the Pocso Act after an investigation revealed that she engaged in physical relations with the boy multiple times, at her house in Surat, and the places they visited before being apprehended.
The teacher claimed to the police that she got pregnant after a physical relation with the boy at her house where she was giving him tuition for the last three years.
Meanwhile, Puna police secured one-day custody of the teacher after initially demanding a four-day remand. "After it was revealed that she was 20 weeks pregnant, she claimed that she was carrying the fetus of the 13-year-old boy she sexually abused over the past few months. As she expressed her desire to abort the child for a better life for both herself and the boy, we will proceed once the court grants her permission. After the abortion, we will match the DNA of her, the victim, and the fetus," said an officer associated with the probe.
On Thursday, the Puna police sought four days of custody of the accused from the Surat court as they needed to collect evidence by visiting places where they had physical relations. The teacher also sexually abused the boy at her house. The court granted one day's custody.
"We will take her to Vadodara and collect evidence from the hotel where they stayed. This evidence is important to prove the sexual exploitation of the child," said an officer.
The teacher is accused of abducting the boy on April 25 and taking him to various places like Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Delhi, and Vrundavan. Both had a physical relationship in a Vadodara hotel. The teacher used to work in the same school where the boy studied.
