Vadodara: The women empowerment committee of Baroda Management Association (BMA) recently felicitated women achievers through an event titled ‘Celebration of Women on Mission'.
"Over 150 women delegates attended the event," said the committee's chairperson, Dr Mangla Chouhan, who, along with her team Amruta Vyas, Komal Vaidhya, and Hinal Yadav, organised the event.
Sneha Desai, writer of the Oscar-nominated ‘Laapata Ladies', was the guest of honour. She shared her thoughts on topics from her own journey and beyond.
Everester and cyclist Nisha Kumari shared glimpses of her journey to Mount Everest and cycling from India to London with a purpose to address climate change issues and awareness. Dr Chitra Singla, an associate professor at IIMA, and Dr Geetika Saluja, founding partner of BOHO Homes, also shared their journeys.
"We also had Dr Rashmi Desai and Shilpa Pandya, scientists from ISRO. Dr Desai introduced the delegates to the world of oceanography and satellites and their application to the common man. Pandya introduced and connected the audience with sensors, GIS, satellites, and the space atmosphere in a simplified way along with her journey in ISRO," said Chouhan.
"Minaksi Manhas, the founder of Swaranjli Music Academy, set the celebration vibe with her magical group singing," she said, adding that a panel discussion was also held.
