Vijayawada: Minister for education, IT, and electronics, Nara Lokesh, has directed officials to complete all ongoing reforms in the education department by June. He emphasized that once the reforms are finalized, the focus for the next four years should shift toward improving the quality of education in govt schools.
In a review meeting with education department officials, Lokesh discussed key issues including Mega DSC recruitment, SSC and intermediate exam results, and the education dashboard. He urged officials to announce the Mega DSC notification at the earliest, ensuring no legal hurdles arise. He also advised the timely release of SSC and Inter results, making them accessible through traditional media and the Manamitra mobile app.
Lokesh instructed the department to complete the APAAR ID registration, which currently stands at 85%, and integrate it with the Leap app so that students can track their academic progress. He stressed the need to prevent dropouts in govt schools and ensure transparency in online admissions under Sarva Shiksha.
Plans are also underway to construct a central library, training academy, and archives museum in Amaravati. Technological tools like intelligence clickers will initially be distributed to Class 9 students and expanded based on performance. Lokesh also called for an alternative GO to 117 and directed that all textbooks be ready by school reopening, with 48% already printed.
Officials also discussed the implementation of the supreme court's verdict on special education posts and committed to transparent transfers and promotions of teachers.
