In a twist no one saw coming,
Taylor Swift’s famously polished “good girl” image could face its biggest test yet — and it’s all tied to the intensifying legal drama between
Blake Lively and
Justin Baldoni. While Swift isn’t directly involved in the lawsuits, her close friendship with Lively and alleged behind-the-scenes influence on the movie It Ends With Us has placed her uncomfortably close to the fire.
Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's lawsuit could drag Taylor Swift into the legal spotlight
The heart of the conflict revolves around dueling lawsuits. Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and orchestrating a smear campaign during the filming of It Ends With Us. In retaliation, Baldoni countersued Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist Leslie Sloane for defamation.
Swift’s name reportedly came up because she allegedly helped "pressure" Baldoni to change a major scene and also contributed a song to the movie’s soundtrack. A source told People magazine, “Anyone that had any knowledge of this situation will be subpoenaed, no matter their celebrity status.” Another insider countered, emphasizing that Swift and Hugh Jackman, another close friend, are “not aware of anything going on.”
Critics warn that Taylor Swift’s good girl persona could finally crack under scrutiny
Commentator Candace Owens didn’t mince words, claiming that 2025 has been a year of karma catching up to celebrities. “Their image of Taylor Swift is going to be shattered once these text messages become public because I have never bought the good girl thing that she pitches,” Owens said on her Candace podcast. She suggested Swift has “become addicted” to the victim narrative since her public feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
Owens added, “I really do feel 2025 has just been this game of karma, and a lot of people are being exposed for who they truly are.”
Despite the growing media frenzy, sources close to Taylor Swift maintain that her role is nonexistent. As an insider told Us Weekly, “Taylor has always been Blake’s friend, but Taylor does not have any involvement in the case. She wasn’t a part of the movie. Taylor was not a producer on the film and had no creative involvement.”
