Visakhapatnam: The
India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted light to moderate rainfall at isolated places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh (NCAP), for Wednesday, and
thunderstorm accompanied with lightning likely at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh (CAP), Yanam and Rayalaseema with gusty winds with speed of 40-50 kmph for Wednesday.
The weather agency said rainfall occurred at one or two places over CAP, Yanam and Rayalaseema from Monday morning to Tuesday morning. Kuppam in Chittoor district recorded 2 cm rainfall during the period.
An upper air cyclonic circulation now lies over south Telangana and neighbourhood at 0.9 km above mean sea level.The north- south trough from east Vidarbha to South Tamil Nadu now runs from the cyclonic circulation over south Telangana and neighbourhood to Gulf of Mannar across Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu at 0.9 km above mean sea level. The IMD-Amaravati mentioned that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning are likely at isolated places over CAP and Rayalaseema for Thursday and Friday. Gusty winds with speed of 40-50 kmph likely at isolated places over CAP and gusty winds with speed of 30-40 kmph likely at isolated places over Rayalaseema during the period.
As per the IMD- Amaravati, Nandyal was the hottest in the state on Tuesday with 41.3 degrees Celsius, followed by Tirupati (40.7°C), YSR Kadapa (40.6°C), Kurnool (40.4°C), Nellore (39.6°C) and Jangamaheswarapuram (39.5°C).
