Tughlakabad, a key assembly constituency in Delhi, has witnessed dynamic electoral shifts over the past elections. Traditionally a battleground between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the seat has seen alternating victories. While BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri secured wins in 2008 and 2013, AAP's Sahi Ram turned the tide in 2015 and retained the seat in 2020. The constituency has shown high voter engagement, with turnout consistently exceeding 70%. With the upcoming elections, the contest remains fierce, as BJP aims to reclaim its lost ground while AAP works to consolidate its dominance. Voter preferences here often reflect broader political trends in Delhi, making Tughlakabad a crucial constituency to watch. In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP’s Sahiram won the Tughlakabad seat, securing 58,905 votes and defeating BJP’s Vikram Bidhuri by a margin of 13,758 votes. A total of 1,08,072 valid votes were cast out of 1,77,672 registered electors. The 2015 election saw a landslide victory for AAP’s Sahi Ram, who secured 64,311 votes, defeating BJP’s Vikram Bidhuri by a massive margin of 33,701 votes. The total number of valid votes cast was 1,03,057 out of 1,55,327 electors.
