JHARKHAND CANDIDATES LIST 2024

The first round of Jharkhand assembly polling took place on November 13 in 43 constituencies, with the subsequent phase set for November 20.

The vote count will take place on November 23. A fierce electoral contest is underway between the JMM-led INDIA alliance and the BJP-headed National Democratic Alliance, following the first polling phase on November 13.Leading figures from both sides conducted campaign activities, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda, and Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, who campaigned for their respective candidates.

The electoral contest features 528 candidates, comprising 472 men, 55 women and one third gender individual, competing across 38 constituencies. Notable candidates include chief minister Hemant Soren, his spouse Kalpana Soren (both JMM), his sister-in-law Sita Soren (BJP), state BJP president and former chief minister Babulal Marandi, assembly speaker Ravindra Nath Mahto (JMM), AJSU Party chief Sudesh Mahto and Opposition Leader Amar Kumar Bauri (BJP). Among the 38 constituencies, eight seats are designated for scheduled tribes and three for scheduled castes. The 2019 assembly elections resulted in a close finish, with JMM securing 30 seats and BJP obtaining 25, reduced from their 2014 tally of 37. The JMM-Congress-RJD coalition achieved a clear majority with 47 seats.
