Hunter x Hunter Season 7 expectations, release rumours, and more

Hunter X Hunter could be dubbed one of the best anime shows of all time. The sixth season of the show was released in 2014 and since then, the audience has been waiting for the seventh season. The main reason behind the update related to the seventh season is the health issues that the manga creator Yoshihiro Togashi has been facing.
The manga resumed after a long hiatus in 2024 and later again went into one by December. This has posed a great issue for the creators in accumulating enough content for the seventh season. The Hunter X Hunter season 6 is based on the Chairman Election Arc that stretches from chapter 137 to chapter 148. As for the story, Chairman Netero's death triggers the wave of elections in the Hunter Association.
However, the process is not as simple as the Pariston Hill Zodiacs start hijacking the process of election which results in multiple voting rounds. The story moves forward by showing Gon's recovery and Killua's determination to save Gon as well.
Further, the election outcome was heavily influenced by the popularity of Leorio. It will be safe to say that with the sixth season, the franchise has tried to give close to multiple characters. On the other hand, the conclusion has also opened the gates for new possibilities that we will get to see in the upcoming seasons (if there are any).

Hunter x Hunter season 7, if follows the manga, will most probably be based on the Dark Continent Expedition Arc and the Succession War Arc. The Dark Continent Expedition Arc goes on from chapter 340 to chapter 349.
