Ambarish Bhattacharya is looking forward to Baccha Shoshur as he has played a negative character for the first time in this film directed by
Pavel. “I love to play characters who have a funny side. But playing an out-and-out negative character was quite challenging. I play Chiranjeet Chakraborty’s son in the film. I did play a negative role in Jio Pagla but it had comic shades.
But in Pavel’s film, it is completely negative,” said the actor who is shooting for Amitabha Bhattacharya’s film 17th September, where he plays Soham’s friend. “I play a positive character who tries to save the marriage between Arunima and Soham in this film,” said the actor.
Amabarish loves to sing and for the past 15 years he has been singing theatre songs. “I learned singing from Ketaki Dutta, who was an actor of Bengali theatre and films. We used to perform together but now I perform solo,” said Ambarish.
The actor plays a lawyer who is a detective too in Sudeshna Roy and Abhijit Guha’s film Samsara. “My character Mr Dasgupta reveals many facts about the three heroes in the film,” said Ambarish, who is looking forward to portraying an MLA in Indraadip Das Gupta’s next, Doctor Babu.
Ambarish also plays an interesting character in Indrasis Acharya’s film The Parcel. “It is my first film with Rituparna Sengupta and it was a complete pleasure to work with an actor of her stature,” said the actor.
