It’s been a tough time amid the nationwide lockdown fighting against the coronavirus pandemic, but to overcome the situation, independent filmmaker
Amartya Bhattacharyya decided to take the creative route. He has made a full-length feature film titled 'Made in Isolation' which is perhaps the first feature film made during the lockdown.
The entire film, spanning around 1 hr and 15 mins, has been made inside a 16 feet x 10 feet room, with no crew or external resources completely under isolation.
It's written, shot, directed and edited by Amartya Bhattacharyya, who is currently in isolation in Bhubaneswar.
Kisaloy Roy, the young award winning music composer has composed the music in isolation from his residence in Kolkata. 'Made in Isolation' has been produced by
Priyanka Ghosh Roy, who also has a special appearance in a very special way.
It’s Amartya's second Bengali feature film, the first being 'Runanubandha' which was a part of the prestigious Moscow International Film Festival, Kolkata International Film Festival, and near about 20 international festivals across the world and had bagged 4 international awards.
With this film, Amartya explores something he calls 'Selfie Cinematography'. Since he is the only person in his room, he has cinematographically captured himself. Most shots are hand-held shots of him holding the camera and enacting at the same time.
