Churni Ganguly is on cloud nine. The actress-cum-director, who has grown up watching films at Kolkata International Film Festival, had to pinch herself to believe that she got an official mail from KIFF that her film is selected in International Competition: Innovation in Moving Images. “I still can’t believe that Tarikh (A Timeline) is part of such a prestigious section of the festival.
Whether the film wins or not is secondary as being a part of the festival itself is so prestigious. For the first time, my film will be shown at KIFF and I do feel honoured,” said Churni. The film is about three friends, their families and a group of students. The other Bengali film to be featured in this section is Runanubandha (The HE without HIM) by Amartya Bhattacharyya.
