The film narrates a story encapsulating the lives of its five female protagonists. Ira (Mimi) has become a workaholic photojournalist who has to choose between her career and personal life. Suzy (Priyanka Sarkar) is a single mother, facing all odds while raising her only child. Rupa (Sohini Sarkar) is a victim of domestic violence and torn apart in a failed marriage. Miss Sen (Jaya) is an arrogant and rebellious woman running her own ad agency, while Meher (Nusrat) is an aspiring actress struggling to find good work.
The brilliant background score, paired with parallel narratives, only makes it more intriguing. The 5 stories run parallel to each other and highlight the crisis faced by 5 ladies. ‘Crisscross’ is based on Smaranjit Chakraborty’s novel by the same name. The women-centric drama releases on August 10.
