After touring several festivals across the world, Goutam Ghose’s Raahgir – The Wayfarers bagged four awards at the Washington DC South Asian Film Festival recently. The film that features
Adil Hussain and Tillotama Shome in lead was premiered in Kolkata International Film Festival in 2019.
Raahgir won awards for the best feature film, best director, best female actor and the best male actor.
The film was recently screened at the inauguration of UK Asian Film Festival at prestigious BFI. Now, the director is awaiting a theatre release.
“The film is designed for the big screen. That’s why I want my audience to get a chance to enjoy it at the theatres before it comes on the OTT platforms. The good news is, we got a world film distributor for the film. We made it a couple of years ago, and now it is getting ready to release in theatres,” the filmmaker told us.
Goutam Ghose was busy with the short film that features
Suman Mukhopadhyay and Gargee RoyChowdhury. “With this pandemic restriction around, my work was disrupted. I was not stepping out. Now it is ready. I am planning for a small screening for a group of people,” the director said.
Goutam Ghose will soon start shooting the India leg of the Indo-Italian film that he started a few years ago.
