In 2013, two of
Sohini Sarkar’s films ‘Phoring’ and ‘Rupkatha Noy’ were released in the same month. This year also thee of her recent films – ‘Bidaay Byomkesh’, ‘Happy Pill’ and ‘Crisscross’ released in the span of a month, the latest being
Birsa Dasgupta’s ‘Crisscross’. What’s interesting is Sohini portrayed a completely different character in each of the films and delivered powerful performances with ease.
In ‘Crisscross’ there were 4 leading ladies apart from Sohini Sarkar. Mimi, Jaya Ahsan, Nusrat, Priyanka – all won many a million hearts with their captivating performances. A healthy competition always churns out best from the actors. Sohini Sarkar feels the same; she rather sees it as an opportunity to improve her acting credentials.
“If I tell you that I don’t believe in competition, people would think I am lying. At the end of the day, your work speaks and also the kind of work you deliver. I feel so happy when someone essays a great role or performs superbly. And then I start to think how I would have approached this character. But I don’t like the rat race. I am lucky to have worked under some of the best directors,” said the actress.
