Here’s how Sohini Sarkar deals with competition

In 2013, two of Sohini Sarkar’s films ‘Phoring’ and ‘Rupkatha Noy’ were released in the same month. This year also thee of her recent films – ‘Bidaay Byomkesh’, ‘Happy Pill’ and ‘Crisscross’ released in the span of a month, the latest being Birsa Dasgupta’s ‘Crisscross’. What’s interesting is Sohini portrayed a completely different character in each of the films and delivered powerful performances with ease.
In ‘Crisscross’ there were 4 leading ladies apart from Sohini Sarkar. Mimi, Jaya Ahsan, Nusrat, Priyanka – all won many a million hearts with their captivating performances. A healthy competition always churns out best from the actors. Sohini Sarkar feels the same; she rather sees it as an opportunity to improve her acting credentials.
“If I tell you that I don’t believe in competition, people would think I am lying. At the end of the day, your work speaks and also the kind of work you deliver. I feel so happy when someone essays a great role or performs superbly. And then I start to think how I would have approached this character. But I don’t like the rat race. I am lucky to have worked under some of the best directors,” said the actress.
