Debutant director Raja Sen has roped in Huma Qureshi and Anshuman Jha (of Love Sex Aur Dhokha fame) for X. This experimental indie film with a never-tried-before format boasts of 11 directors ��� Abhinav Shiv Tiwari, Anu Menon, Hemant Gaba, Pratim D Gupta, Q, Raja Sen, Rajshree Ojha, Sandeep Mohan, Sudhish Kamath, Suparn Verma and Gautham Menon ��� collaborating for a single project, with each shooting segments that will be merged into a single entity.
Talking about the project, Raja says, ���It���s a movie about a filmmaker���s journey and my segment is dark and sexy. The 11 directors are all lending their signature touches to the film, which dabbles with many genres. You can call this movie esoteric.���
Ask him about Huma and Raja says, ���I liked her in Gangs Of Wasseypur. In that film, she almost eats up Nawazuddin Siddiqui! She is a natural and doesn���t hesitate to take chances.��� Working on the project is also noted cinematographer Ravi K Chandran. ���It was an incredible experience, not just to work with the actors I admire and a cinematographer I am in awe of, but also win their trust,��� he adds.
Huma, who has completed the shoot, texted us saying, ���It was great working with Raja as well as Anshuman. I had loved the script. It definitely was an exciting piece to be a part of.��� The actress is paired opposite Anshuman, who plays the younger Rajat Kapoor ��� the film���s lead. Incidentally, after Raja cast him in his segment, two of the other directors, Hemant Gaba and Gautham Menon too have decided to include the actor in their segments. ���All credit goes to Dibakar Banerjee, who cast him in LSD and introduced this powerhouse actor to us,��� says Raja.
Anshuman is currently shooting in Santiniketan for Chauranga. Talking about the roller-coaster ride called X, he tells us, ���I play the character between 16 and 23 years. The look change, the weight gain, the change in hairstyle... everything needed attention. Though I worked with Raja and Hemant for the first time, we had an amazing tuning.��� Having wrapped up Raja and Hemant���s segments, Anshuman is now gearing up to shoot for Gautham Menon. About his co-star, Huma, the actor says, ���We have known each other since 2010, as we are both into theatre. So, the general comfort level was there. She is a fantastic actress and I think, we play each other up in this project.���
