About how he landed the part, the actor told us, “Ronny has a considerable body of work in black-and-white photography and I knew about him. But I didn’t know him as a person before auditioning for the film. The actors, who came together for the movie, are from Kolkata and Mumbai. But even the Kolkata actors are now doing well in terms of work.” Soumyajit said apart from Catsticks, his Ghost of the Golden Groves (Sonajurir Bhoot), directed by Aniket Dutta and Roshni Sen, is also doing the festival rounds. “I play the protagonist in Ghost of the Golden Groves. My character is that of a cook, who comes to a house only to make some strange discoveries,” he said.
On the work front, Soumyajit is also gearing up to make his debut as a director.
