Topographically, he is based in a region that is essentially Hindu-dominated. My documentary talks about Rupams cross-cultural identity and how it has influenced his music. Incidentally, Rupam has named his son, Rup Aarohan Prometheus. Prometheus, its known, went against the laws of the Gods and Nature by stealing fire and giving it to man. Rupam, a non-believer in religion, who consciously stayed away from adding a surname to Rup, says, Religion has so far only divided people, whereas music builds bridges. My only religion is music. Ayan has done his bit of research read my books, gone through my songs. I felt I could depend on him with a project like this.
Featuring in the documentary would be the bands, Cactus, Chandrabindoo, Lakkhichhara and Bhoomi, wholl be talking about Rupam. Also, sharing screen space would be music directors like Pritam Chakraborty and Debajyoti Mishra and directors like Suman Mukhopadhyay, Srijit Mukherji and Birsa Dasgupta, whove worked with the musician.
