'Onno Rupkotha' promises a poignant tale of fate and faith

These days we rarely get to see films without stories centered on urban narratives. However, Ratan Maitra's upcoming film, 'Onno Rupkotha', deviates from this trend, offering a rich portrayal of rural Bengal. The teaser of the film is already out.

The plot of this slice-of-a-life drama delves deep into the life of Dr. Anirban Roy, who, after a hiatus of 26 years, revisits his village.To his astonishment, he finds his surroundings transformed and even his childhood love, Rupkotha, seemingly altered. The film paints a picture of Anirban's journey into his past and the profound changes the village has undergone. With the village now ensnared in political upheaval, Anirban's grandfather is fiercely striving to preserve its essence and values. As the story unfolds, Anirban seeks reconciliation with both his grandfather and Rupkotha. The director promises the audience will be gripped by the suspense of whether Anirban can restore the fragments of his past or if destiny has other plans for him.

Raj De stars as Anirban, with Pujarini Ghosh portraying Rupkotha in the film. Notable actors like Biswajit Chakroborty and Sumit Samaddar also grace the screen in key roles.
