Argha Deep Chatterjee’s next ‘Mukhosh’ has created quite a lot of buzz since its trailer was dropped. The intense thriller sees
Payel Sarkar and Rajatava Datta opposite each other. It also has
Prantik Banerjee, Santilal Mukherjee and debutant Amrita in pivotal roles. The film is set to release on December 6.
The story starts with Amrita lodging a complaint about her missing older sister while a senior police inspector, played by Santilal Mukherjee, begins primary investigation.
Amrita believes her brother-in-law, played by Rajatava Datta, is responsible for her sister's disappearance.
Rajatava Datta will be seen as an influential figure with strong political connections and the incident puts his career in troubled waters. However, despite the influence of Rajatava’s character, the inspector promises to help Amrita out. Prantik Banerjee’s character also comes to her Amrita’s aid. Paayel Sarkar essays Rajatava Datta’s love interest in the thriller with loads of grey shades.
"The word ‘personality’ is derived from the Latin word persona, meaning a mask (Mukhosh). I feel, the idea of a mask is deeply associated with personality. Most the appearances are probably masks, donned by people, out of social obligations. Similarly, in this film, the characters have multiple identities or personalities. This is a dark comedy and I feel, while watching the film, the audience will gradually peel off the masks of the characters," explains Rajatava while speaking about the thriller.
He is also very much excited to play such a challenging role. “It’s not that we always land down with our dream roles. However, Mukhosh is going to be one of the memorable chapters in the array of works we have done,” adds the seasoned actor.
Argha Deep Chatterjee made his directorial debut with the thriller 'Jojo' in 2018. His second film 'Rhododendron' (2019), again a psychological thriller, is yet to be released.
