Ritwick Chakraborty, to play a hardcore journalist in ‘Kanya’?

Joining the bandwagon of directors who are making films on burning social issues, Supriya Sen is all set for her upcoming film ‘Kanya’. Starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Arunima Ghosh, the film also features Ritwick Chakraborty in the role of a journalist.
According to reports, Ritwick Chakraborty’s role as a journalist is said to be the USP of the film. The character he is essaying forms a key element in the narrative.The director sends a strong message to the society through the eyes of rebel journalist. Against all odds, Ritwick’s character stands beside the lead character Arunima is playing.
Apart from playing the on-screen husband of Arunima, Parambrata is also working as a creative director in Supriya Sen’s directorial debut. While speaking about her upcoming film, the director said even today birth of a boy is celebrated while the birth of a girl is repented. It has become a social curse. This film aims to spread a message against the slaughtering of a girl child in our society.
