Congratulating the filmmaker and the cast and crew members, Suman wrote on his social media, “Sheer brilliance… watched ‘Once upon a time in Calcutta’ at MoMA festival - New Directors New Films. It weaves the complex fabric of our times. The cinematic portrayal of the city has moved me intensely. And mind-blowing performances by Sreelekha Mitra, Arindam Ghosh, Bratya Basu, Loknath Dey, Arindam Chakraborty and the entire cast. Specially Sreelekha is an absolute delight. Thanks Aditya for this piece of art. This makes me proud about my city (sic).”
