Abhirup Ghosh’s next ‘Zombiesthaan’ is making headlines ever since the film was announced. As the title suggests, it’s the first zombie film in Bengali which stars Tnusree Chakraborty,
Rajatava Dutta,
Rudranil Ghosh in the lead. The makers have now announced the release date and it's December 13.
Tnusree plays Akira, a gun-trotting woman who travels through the rural belts of Bengal on a vehicle avoiding towns and cities in a post-apocalyptic world as zombies have captured most of the urban areas. In search of a safe zone, she has a strong belief that the government or military have made a place which is safe from the zombies. But in reality, the entire safe zone thing might be a hoax, a rumour as nobody has any idea about it. The film follows her journey and whom she meets on her way.
Rudranil Ghosh plays a survivor Anil Chatterjee whom Akira meets on her way. Anil has managed to make her home a fortress, a highly secured hideout. He is obsessed about the idea that humans are responsible for this apocalypse and they rightly deserve the destruction.
Meanwhile, Rajatava Dutta plays a shady character of Raja Haridas, a dictator-like monarch who rules his self proclaimed kingdom Haridas Nagar.
The film also stars Debolina Biswas, Jeena Tarafder, Sourav Saha,
Souman Bose and others.
