Music composer
Raja Narayan Deb is happy with the songs of Surajit Nag and Ujjwal Basu’s Bengali film Michil. The film has four songs including one Rabindrasangeet and a folk song and Raja has also composed the background score. “Besides, there is a classical-based song, for which I have used a very modern music arrangement. And for the Rabindrasangeet, I have used an elaborate and opera-like music arrangement,” he added.
The folk song has been rendered by Jayati Chakraborty.
Titled as ‘Michil’, it’s inspired by a short story by Pracheta Gupta. Basabdatta Chatterjee is acting on the lead role of Srimoyee. The rest of the cast includes Bhaswar Chattopadhyay, Falguni Chattopadhyay,
Samadarshi Dutta and Rumki Chattopadhyay among others. Incidentally, Ujjwal Basu is also making a crowd-funded film Dudh Pither Gaach.
