A challenging new role for Kanchan Mullick

Kanchan Mullick is directing a play for the first time and he is also acting in it too. “The play, titled Ekdin Alladin, is written by Bratya Basu. Directing and acting in the same project is challenging but I am trying to pull it off. Few shows have already been staged and the audience is appreciating it. This gives me a lot of encouragement to do more such works.The theatre will be staged on February 18 at Bharat Rang Mahotsav in Delhi, which is indeed of great honour,” said the actor. Kanchan is also part of plays Mogon Rajar Pala and Mir Jafar. “At present, theatre is taking up all of my time, so I can’t concentrate on films much. However, I am part of Raja Chanda’s film starring Dev and Rukmini and Abhimanyu Mukherjee’s Teko. From March next year, I will start concentrating on films again. Serials has been a complete no-no for the past four years,” said the actor.
