Youth group Lok premiered a play, The Stone Age, at the Kolkata youth theatre festival recently.
This one-and-a-half hour long psychedelic play, written and directed by Aditya Sengupta, saw more than 500 people in attendance. The play, a mix of comedy, tragedy, romance and violence, revolves around five Indian friends living in New York. Soumyajit Majumdar as an immigrant struck a chord, while Kheya Chattopadhyay as a hearing and visually impaired character, Anindi, was a revelation.

Meghdoot RoyChowdhury as musician Arnab and Najrin Islam as a student activist were naturals. Actor Shataf Figar, who played Arnab and Anindi’s alcoholic father, said, “This was a great opportunity to work with a team of youngsters.” A host of celebs were seen rooting for the group.
