Viewers who enjoyed The Joker are in for another treat. Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn is heading for the box office. The eighth film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), this is a follow-up spin-off to Suicide Squad, which hit the screen in 2016. The movie is being directed by Cathy Yan and is written by Christina Hodson.
The film features
Margot Robbie in the role of Harley Quinn, who is a former criminal, who turned vigilante and is part of the Suicide Squad. Christina Hodson has tried to reinvent Harley following her departure from the Joker.
Based on the photos that have been seen so far, the film seems to be very promising. The marketing campaign, however, won’t kick-off until after the holiday season. A new batch of images featuring the major characters have been released this week. Check them out here:
And it looks like Birds of Prey is going to be visually striking and very different from the earlier films of the DCEU. Yan is intent on going for a more light-hearted and fun approach.
