Former Batman Christian Bale, who recently attended the Toronto International Film Festival said that he is dying to see Phoenix step in the shoes of Heath Ledger's iconic character.

In an interaction with Variety on the red carpet of the prestigious film festival, he said, "Joaquin is one of the best actors around, you know, and obviously, I worked with Heath but you know, it’s a brave thing to follow up that performance and he always makes interesting choices.

While Bale was at the Toronto International Film Festival for his film 'Ford v Ferrari' in which he'll be seen alongside Matt Damon, his words of praise for Phoenix have surely piqued the interest of the audience to the next level.

Todd Phillips' film which even won the Golden Lion award at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival also features Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, Brett Cullen and others in significant roles.
