Elijah Wood’s up for a Delhi darshan

Elijah Wood, best known for his role as Frodo Baggins in the Lord Of The Rings, will be in the city this week as part of his first visit to India. The 34-year-old, who is one half of the American DJ duo Wooden Wisdom, along with his music partner Zach Cowie, will be performing in three Indian cities, and hopes to explore Delhi during his stay here.

Being a music and architecture lover, Woods has asked his organizers to extend his stay in Delhi.He plans to explore the city and visit some monuments. He also plans to visit Hauz Khas, Lodhi Gardens and Purana Qila. A source says that Woods has requested that his tickets to Hyderabad, where he is to play after Delhi, be postponed so he can even make a trip to Agra if possible.
The American DJ, who has also apparently remixed a few Bollywood numbers, wants to meet AR Rahman. A source close to the artist says, “Mr Rahman is respected a lot internationally and Elijah is a huge fan. When in India, we are going to try and set up a meeting with the musician.”
Elijah will be in India from September 3 to 9, and will be performing in New Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
