The yet untitled film is a sports-comedy with Amy as a once-bright coach who is signed on to prep a NBA team, making her the first female coach on the block. Interestingly, Whoopi Goldberg had taken on similar responsibilities in the 1996 film Eddie. WE ARE MARSHALL After a plane crash leaves all onboard, including a college football team, dead, the task of rebuilding the team is handed to Jack Lengyel. Matthew McConaughey plays the coach in this film that had him starting from a scratch with an inexperienced team, that loses its first game but goes on to win the season's first home-game.
GRIDIRON GANG Dwayne Johnson The film has Dwayne Johnson playing Sean Porter, a child detention centre employee, who takes it upon himself to give the teenage inmates something worthwhile to look up to. In his endeavour, Porter creates a football team and trains them his way. The film is loosely based on the 1990 journey of the Kilpatrick Mustangs.
REMEMBER THE TITANS Denzel Washington Based on the real life football coach Herman Boone, the film is about how Boone was responsible for guiding a racially integrated high-school team to victory. The film shows how Boone overcame the racial barrier and brought together a team through practice, athletic training and motivational speeches. Boone's role was played by Denzel Washington.
GLORY ROAD Josh Lucas Don Haskins, the newly appointed coach of a college basketball team, works on limited resources to assemble a team that boasts of raw talent. Through dedicated training, he turns the team into a skilful one. Glory Road is based on the real story of Haskins who coached a team that had an all-black starting line-up.

EDDIE WHOPPI Goldberg Perhaps the only other film with a female basketball coach, Eddie revolved around a limousine driver named Edwina Franklin who wins a contest to coach the New York Knicks during the second half of a NBA game. Owing to her popularity, she is appointed the head coach of the team.
HOOSIERS Gene Hackman After losing his last coaching job, the position of head basketball coach at a school is somewhat of a last chance for Norman Dale to prove his worth. With a passion for the game, the coach prepares his team so well that they lift the state championship. Dale is not very popular among the locals though, many of whom want him to resign.
