Actress Katie Holmes paid homage to her grandfather, who was a WWII veteran, on this Memorial Day.

The 36-year-old actress posted on her Instagram account a black-and-white snap of her late grandfather dressing in his uniform as he posed looking off-camera.
"My grandfather. He served in world war 2. Thank you to all of the great men and women who serve our country. Happy Memorial Day!!" she captioned the image.
On the same day, Holmes also shared another Instagram photo that showed a person wearing jeans with printed stars on it.
