Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has teased some thrilling updates about the future of the X-Men and Fantastic Four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
These two iconic superhero groups are fan favorites, but they’ve had limited roles in the MCU so far. That’s about to change, according to Feige, who shared his vision during the Disney APAC Content Showcase.
He shared, “We’re finally bringing Marvel’s First Family into the MCU,” Feige said, referring to the Fantastic Four. He confirmed that their upcoming movie, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, will wrap filming by November and is set to hit theaters on July 25, 2025. “After that, those characters will go straight into the next Avengers movies,” he added. “I’m very excited for the future of the Fantastic Four.”
As for the X-Men, Feige promised that fans would gradually see more of their favorite mutants in upcoming movies.
“Wolverine officially joined the MCU this summer with Deadpool & Wolverine, but there’s more to come,” Feige said. “Over the next few films, we’ll slowly introduce more X-Men characters. The story of Secret Wars will bring us into a whole new age of mutants and the X-Men.”
He called this development a “dream come true,” now that Marvel Studios has full control of the X-Men franchise.
Fans are already buzzing about Wolverine’s arrival in the MCU, played by Hugh Jackman, and many are eagerly anticipating the Fantastic Four’s debut. Feige’s comments suggest that these two legendary groups will play central roles in shaping the next phase of the Marvel universe.
“Finally having the X-Men back is an incredible opportunity,” Feige concluded. “The future is bright for both teams.”
