With the international poster of ‘Captain Marvel’ being unveiled, the excitement among fans is palpable. Taking centrestage is
Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, who plays Captain Marvel along with Samuel L Jackson’s Nick Fury and Jude Law’s Walter Lawson/ Mar-Vell. With the film all set to release on March 8, Marvel has released a brand new international poster, which showcases important characters.
Also in focus is the difference between Larson’s two identities in the film, besides her original Carol Danvers one. She is shown as a member of Starforce as well as Captain Marvel.
Nick Fury is seen in a much younger avatar, which has already piqued interest about what to expect. Danvers teammates in the popular Starforce (alien warriors) are also given prominence. These include Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan), Att-Lass (Algenis Pérez Soto), Korath (Djimon Hounsou) and Bron-Char (Rune Temte).
Fans already know that Danvers was a pilot when she discovered herself among Kree, an extraterrestrial race. An incident leaves her DNA fused with a Kree’s, which ends up giving her superpowers. Soon, she crash lands back on earth and fails to remember anything about her life on Earth. She ends up meeting Fury and together the two decide to fight the Skrulls, an extraterrestrial race known to bully others. Captain Marvel was first mentioned in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’s post-credit scene where she was sent a distress signal by Fury when Thanos destroyed half the universe. She will also be seen in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, which releases in April.
