Zac Efron fans may be in for a little disappointment amidst rumours that the star is in talks to be cast as the character Adam Warlock in the upcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’.
While rumours ran wild that the actor would soon don a golden cape and get into superhero mode for the film, director
James Gunn stepped in to rubbish the claims. Taking to his Twitter handle, the director denied that casting for the character was on and dubbed the rumours as ‘nonsense’.
Gunn tweeted, “There is no casting underway for Vol.
3. And in what world would I only cast a “Caucasian” if the character has gold skin? And if I wanted a Zac Efron type wouldn’t I go to Zac Efron? Where do you get this nonsense?”
Adam Warlock has been one of the most anticipated characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). His character was teased in the mid-credits scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. While fans expected him to make his big-screen debut in the ‘Avengers’ franchise, reports later claimed that he would possibly join in the next phase of the MCU.
According to Gunn, the character was initially supposed to appear in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, but was cut during the early treatment process.
