Rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers were mistaken for heavy metal legends Metallica by security guards at Belarus airport. Flea, the Bassist of the band, formed in 1983, took to Instagram to reveal the news that the band was confused for Metallica by officials in Belarus.

"We were called into customs officials office at an airport in Belarus and they asked us to sign a bunch of Metallica cd's and photos," the 53-year-old member of RHCP wrote.

The "Californication" hitmakers tried to convince the officials but they still insisted them for the autographs on cds.

"We tried to explain to them that we weren't Metallica but they insisted that we sign anyway. They had the power. Well I did play fight fire with Metallica once. I love Metallica anyways but I'm no Robert Trujillo," Flea further posted. In a photo that Flea shared on his Instagram account, the musician clearly writes his name below the Metallica's logo.
